My Seat was Waiting
"And when I stepped onto the stage at the Al Green Theatre, surrounded by a welcoming community leaning in to listen, it wasn’t just a performance. A community was forming." – Karen P.
For Karen, it felt so challenging. She had searched and searched and found that there is almost no record of her Yemenite history. Then she walked into the Miles Nadal JCC. It was so heartwarming. It was such a gift for Karen to share the Al Green Theatre stage and celebrate her roots with others.
Your gift helps create spaces where Jewish arts and community belonging thrive.

My Best Friendships
"Everyday Friends means that you walk into the room and people say your name. And that you are missed when you’re not there." – David K-B
At the MNjcc, we believe in a community where everyone acknowledges and respects differences and celebrates contributions. Through the Wagner Green Cenre for Access & Inclusion, we are thrilled to offer programs to people of all abilities. The Everyday Friends Program supports participants in different activities, seeing their friends and meeting new people!  Individuals are welcomed, engaged, and given opportunities to connect with and make friends.
Your gift helps create a space where differences are welcomed and contributions are celebrated.

Finding Healing in the Water
What began as a 30-day tribute to my dad became a daily ritual — and a new sense of belonging." – Jessica Weiss
After losing her father, Jessica came to the Miles Nadal JCC pool seeking solace. What started as a month-long swim in his memory turned into something deeper. A space for healing, connection, and community. Surrounded by warmth and support, Jessica found more than a place to swim; she found a place to belong.
Your gift helps create spaces where healing and community thrive.

At The J, I Can Be My Complete SelfÂ
"As a Jew-by-choice, a queer woman of colour, and someone new to the local Jewish community, I was still figuring out where I belonged. Volunteering at the J felt like an act of hope – and it was." – Pamela Roy
When Pamela moved back to Toronto, she was searching for community, connection, and a place where all her identities could coexist. She found that place at the MNjcc. Pamela chose to volunteer at the MNjcc Pride Shabbat where she found not only connection, but she met people who would become some of her closest friends.
Your gift helps create a community where meaningful experiences can exist.

From Generation to GenerationÂ
"I feel like I really have grown up in the MNjcc. My Mom brought me here as an infant when she did her fitness classes. I learned to swim and worked on my jump shot at the J. And now my kids are learning to swim and working on their jump shots here." – Ben Katz
From generation to generation – L’Dor Vador in Hebrew – honours are past and embraces our future. Ben recalls the importance of this tradition for his family in respect to their belonging to the MNjcc. From Ben’s Mom on to Ben on to Ben’s children. They have shared the joy of participating together in the MNjcc community. The experiences they have shared create memories that they will have forever. They have created a place to be comfortable and an opportunity to experience together.
Your gift ensures continuity and engagement to thrive from generation to generation.

Legacy of Belonging
"I found myself coming here as a child, since 1953. I met my wife here. My kids grew up here. My daughter became a lifeguard here. I’ve seen a lot of changes at the MNjcc, and it’s very positive. The Miles Nadal JCC is where I belong." – Victor Helfand
For Victor, the MNjcc has been and continues to remain a place where he feels a strong connection. He has established quite a legacy of belonging for himself, as well as his family. The current MNjcc certainly looks different from the one he first joined decades ago, however, the feeling of wanting to be there every day remains unchanged for Victor.
Your gift helps create a vibrant, connected, and inviting community that creates lasting and lifelong belonging.

Kids Thrive at the MNjcc
"The J is where my children are learning to swim, play basketball, sing camp songs, and build a community of their own. The energy is contagious, the connections are real, the joy is lasting." – Alisha Sandy
For over two decades, Alisha has been part of the MNjcc heartbeat. She was a volunteer while in high school, a staff member, and now the Assistant Director of Camps and School Age Programming. Just as Alisha and her family have their journey, so many other families have their own MNjcc journey. The halls are constantly filled with laughter. The excitement of each program – sports, swimming, arts, cooking, music, and more – can be seen on the children’s faces. The MNjcc is where children can flourish. Â
Your gift helps families like Alisha’s – and so many others – grow, thrive, and belong.
