It is a founding member of the Bloor Street Cultural Corridor.

Short Description of the Position:

The Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre is seeking an experienced RECE teacher for its summer JCamp program.  Preference will be given to RECE teachers with previous experience in Play-Based Learning and/or a Child Directed Learning program.  Be a part of this dynamic camp where you will have the opportunity to grow with the children.

Schedule:

• Contract will run from June 22nd, 2026-August 21st, 2026

• 37.5 hours a week

• 8 hours shifts scheduled between the hours of 8:00am-5:30pm Monday-Friday

Salary and Benefits:

• $24.85 hour, plus eligibility for Provincial Wage Enhancement Grant (if available)

• 2 Personal Emergency Leave Days

• Gym membership for the duration of the contract

• Opportunities for additional work at the end of the contract within the Early Childhood Education Department.

Description

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• To develop and implement a camp program at an age and developmentally-appropriate level for preschoolers.

• Weekly program plans, in accordance with How Does Learning Happen and ELECT, including all areas of development, are to be handed in one week prior for the Supervisor’s approval.

• Ensure attendance is correctly completed each day with absent children clearly noted.

• Ensure the safety of all children in attendance at JCamp

• Communicate with the Manager regarding any areas of concern regarding health and safety of children as well as concerns with specific children

• Get to know each child individually to instill confidence, encourage creativity and cognitive skills, master social skills

• Assist the children with lunch and snack routines.

• Assist the children with nap/rest time routines

• Communicate with parents when necessary in reference to their children.

• Staff must be comfortable swimming with their campers up to 3 times a week.

• Staff must be able to work the entire duration of their contract.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Current RECE, in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators.

• Clear Vulnerable Sector Screening completed within 6 months of the contracts start date.

• Current Standard First Aid CPR-C

• Up to date immunization record (Tetanus, TB, Hep B, MMR)

• Candidates must be able to legally work in Canada.

• Familiarity with Learn Through Pay/ ELECT/ How Does Learning Happen? learning models.

• Ability to communicate easily with parents and other staff

• Staff must be able to work the entire duration of the contract, candidates who cannot work all weeks will not be considered.
