Position Summary
The Manager, Mid-Level Giving & Community Philanthropy will serve as the MNjcc’s primary connector for mid-level giving, cultivating meaningful relationships with community members who have the capacity and interest to advance the Centre’s mission. With 70,000 visitors to the MNjcc each year, this role ensures that those with philanthropic potential feel inspired, engaged, and invited to support the future of a thriving Jewish community centre in the heart of downtown Toronto.
This role is responsible for building and stewarding the pipeline for two key giving programs:
• The Al Green Founder’s Circle
• The Mobilization Circle
These giving circles encompass gifts ranging from $2,500 to $25,000 and play a pivotal role in shaping the MNjcc’s future. The successful candidate will cultivate prospects, steward donors, create unique donor experiences, and foster community among mid-level donors. They will also support the early growth of the MNjcc’s Legacy Giving Program through relationship-building and values-based conversations.
This is a full-time role, with a strong focus on meeting prospects, building connections, and maintaining accurate donor tracking and follow-up. All work within the organization ladders up to the strategic plan.
Schedule Information
· Full-time, 37.5 hours per week/regular schedule. Â

Description
Key Responsibilities
Mid-Level Giving: Discovery, Cultivation & Stewardship
• Serve as the organizational connector to identify and engage community members with philanthropic capacity.
• Develop and manage a robust pipeline of prospects for the Al Green Founder’s Circle and the Mobilization Circle.
• Conduct one-on-one meetings, conversations, and tours to introduce community members to philanthropy at the MNjcc.
• Create meaningful experiences within MNjcc programs to showcase impact and inspire giving.
• Solicit gifts in the $2,500–$25,000 range and maintain a strong annual renewal rate for both giving circles.
Giving Circle Management
• Develop stewardship and communication plans for each giving circle.
• Create opportunities for donors to connect with one another and deepen their connection to the MNjcc’s mission and vision.
• Plan intimate and unique engagement opportunities, behind-the-scenes experiences, and special touchpoints tailored to each group.
• Coordinate recognition, updates, and group communications in collaboration with Development and Marketing teams.
Legacy Program Support & Pipeline Development
• Use relationship-building time with mid-level supporters to identify prospective legacy donors.
• Initiate values-based conversations to build the early pipeline for the MNjcc’s Legacy Giving Program.
• Collaborate with the Associate Director of Partnerships to support stewardship of emerging legacy prospects.
Prospect Tracking & Information Management
• Record meetings, moves, interests, and next steps in the donor CRM.
• Maintain an organized and up-to-date prospect pipeline to support strategic decision-making.
• Produce occasional prospect insights and donor profiles to support cultivation strategies.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration & Community Presence
• Work closely with programming teams to identify opportunities for donor engagement within MNjcc activities.
• Serve as a welcoming presence in the building and at community events, helping introduce members to the culture of philanthropy.
• Collaborate with Development team members on events, communications, and stewardship strategies.
Qualifications & Experience
• 5+ years' experience in fundraising, donor relations, community engagement, or related relationship-centred roles.
• Proven ability to build rapport, cultivate relationships, and solicit gifts (experience with mid-level portfolios is an asset).
• Strong understanding or lived experience within Jewish community life; cultural competency with Jewish traditions and values.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to host small groups and lead engaging conversations.
• Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable managing a flexible workload.
• Experience with donor databases/CRMs and strong attention to detail in tracking donor information.
• Creative, warm, and community-minded approach to building connections.

Salary and Benefits
• Annual salary range: $60,000 - $80,000  commensurate with experience.
