    SECTION 1: MEMBERSHIPS, RE-OPENING & GENERAL QUESTIONS

     

    I was a member before you closed.  What do I have to do now?
    In order to participate in any group exercise classes (or to be able to re-enter the gym/pool after October 1), you will first need to access our brand new database (Amilia), create a new account and sign up for a new membership, whether or not you've previously held a membership with us; don't worry, you will not be billed until October. Our rates have been significantly reduced in price and your new, less expensive membership will include a free subscription to our streaming platform, MNjcc On Demand. Please note: full Access to On Demand does not start until October 1. At that time you'll be emailed with instructions. If you wish to have access to On Demand earlier than October, you can either register as a free user to access only the free videos or as a Subscriber for the paid videos. If you reactivate your Fitness membership and are currently paying for On Demand already, we'll cancel your October On Demand payment for you!

     

    But I have credit on file; I spent money already before you closed...
    If you paid and have credit on file with us from before the COVID shutdown (such as membership fees, classes that didn’t finish, or unused PT and Private Swim Lessons), please contact us at 416.924.6211 x0, or at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with your name, address, and phone number, and we will create an account for you and add your credits that can be used for anything going forward.  Please do this BEFORE you register for an activity as you will not be able to use your credits retroactively.

    I purchased an annual membership.  What has happened to my remaining balance?
    Your balance will be converted to credit that you can use to pay for a monthly membership once you are ready to return.

     

    I'm not interested in anything other than using the pool/the fitness floor.  When can I use them again?
    We are planning to reopen the fitness floor and potentially the pool as of October 1.  These areas will be available by appointment only. Whether or not you are a current member, you will need to create a new account and purchase a new membership.  Our new system will allow you to reserve class times, spaces on the fitness floor and lanes in the pool. Get a head start, create an account and sign up for your new membership today!

    What about all the details like change rooms, booking a time slot etc.?  Where can I find that info?

    I want to sign up for a class or course in the fall but it keeps asking me to log in...
    That's right.  We have a new registration system called Amilia and in order to enroll in anything at the J, you will need to create a new account!

     

    I've never been a fitness member but I'm interested in becoming one.  What should I do?

    I don't want to purchase my new membership online.  Can I call?
    Absolutely.  Just call 416.924.6211 x 0 and ask to speak to a Membership Consultant.

     

    Why have some of the On Demand fitness classes stopped?
    That's just a momentary pause!  We're actually going to be filming all of the live classes and then posting them to On Demand about a week after they happen in person. 

     

    I'm in need of financial assistance to purchase a membership or take a course.
    At this time, we are regrettably unable to offer any program or membership subsidies. Our facility has been hit quite hard financially by COVID restrictions and we are not currently in a position to provide subsidized rates. Our new fitness memberships, however, are offered at a lower rate than pre-COVID. We truly hope that this will provide an opportunity for everyone to join at the regular rate for the time being. We will review our ability to offer subsidies in Winter 2021, a few months post-re-opening. This page will be updated if and when we are able to resume our subsidy program.

    When will I be able to work with my personal trainer again?

    I want to get my stuff out of my locker.

    Do I have to be a member to purchase personal training or swim classes?

    Absolutely not.  If you're interested in either of these, be sure you've signed up for The Pulse Newsletter so you'll be kept informed of when you'll be able to register. 

     

    Tell me about your COVID-19 recovery plan highlights. 

    • Masks are required to enter the building
    • A staff member will check your temperature and ask some COVID-related questions
    • Cohorted classes in ECE to ensure groups are self-contained and mixing of children is prohibited 
    • Registration required for entry to the building. No visitors allowed. 
    • All staff on-site trained on hygiene practices and PPE use 
    • Mandatory mask or face-covering in all indoor shared spaces as per Toronto City By-Law 541-2020
    • Safety infrastructure and signage including Plexi barriers, hygiene reminder signs, and physical distancing/wayfinding markers installed throughout the building. 
    • Controlled entrances to building to keep programs separate 
    • Entry screening enforced including temperature checks and brief health questionnaire to assist in contact tracing 
    • Reduced capacity of Fitness Centre to align with or exceed provincial regulations and recommendations. Advanced registration required to access any Fitness areas or programs. 
    • Sanitizing high-touch areas and all equipment throughout the day 
    • Deep-cleaning and disinfecting the full facility each evening 
    • Comprehensive work from home policy to limit facility access to frontline workers

    SECTION 2 ► MNJCC ON DEMAND ► Q & A


    How does it work?
    www.mnjccondemand.ca has three levels of access:

    1. Free Registered User

    This will give you access to the site so you can get an idea of all the videos we have to offer but watch only those we have made available for free.

    2. Day Pass

    For $10 you will be able to access all of our On Demand videos for 24 hours. Watch as much as you want as often as you want. You’ll have full access for 24 hours.

    3. Monthly Subscription

    For just $36 a month, your household will have full access to our video catalogue all day, every day as long as you keep the subscription going.

     

    How do I subscribe?
    Visit www.mnjccondemand.ca and click on the 'Register' button. You will be asked for your name, email address, and a password to create an account. You will then receive an email to validate your email address, and then you can log in.

    Once you have logged in, click on any video you wish to watch, and if it requires a subscription, a window will open that allows you to pick either a day pass or a monthly membership. Fill out your payment details, and once that is processed, you have instant access. 

      

    Why can't I see the On Demand website clearly on my iPhone or iPad?
    You're probably using Safari as your browser.  Unfortunately, the site does not work properly using Safari on iPads or iPhones; it will work using Chrome as your browser instead.

     

    Can you log in on more than one device (if a parent and child want to watch different videos)?
    We are currently allowing three (3) devices per email address to access the system under one monthly subscription price.

     

    Can I watch with my friends and family?
    Family... yes! The $36 per month subscription is for your household. Three devices within that household can enjoy our programming.
    Friends... maybe, if you are all living in the same place. 

     

    How long will fitness classes stay up on the site for me to watch?
    Fitness classes will be available to watch beginning at the indicated time on our schedule and will last a minimum of 24 hours. Most will remain between 1 and 6 weeks.

     

    What is the Cancellation Policy?
    You can cancel your monthly subscription at any time. You will stop being billed and will have access for the remaining days of the month for which you have already paid. Day passes cannot be cancelled. They will automatically expire after 24 hours.

     

    What if I can't afford it? Are there subsidies like your EAP program?

You will be asked for some financial information, and if you qualify, you will be given a code to enter at registration to lower your price. Our former in-person EAP program required you to pay monthly for membership access each month. You could skip a month if you didn’t want access or couldn’t afford that month. MNjcc On Demand will not work that way. Once you subscribe, you will be charged your discounted rate EVERY MONTH until you cancel.

     

    Will streaming continue when you reopen?
    Even when we do reopen our building, there will be physical distancing rules in place for the foreseeable future. Many in our community will not be comfortable being inside buildings, or close to other people. This platform will continue as long as there is a need and demand for it. How it will integrate with our on-premise, in-person membership is still being decided, please stay connected via The Pulse Newsletter for future information about reopening.

     

    Will all the JCC programs be brought On Demand?
    Not all, no. Some of our programs will not translate well to our online platform. Programs like Hebrew classes, Suzuki music lessons, and virtual personal training will continue to be offered outside of the platform, but other than our highly interactive programs, all content will be on the platform.

     

    Is there a way to watch a video after it has left On Demand?
    Unfortunately, no. In order to stay fresh and current, our new programs will be added on a regular basis, while old content will be removed. If you do miss out on something and REALLY want it back, please email This email address is being protected from spambots.     Who do I contact if I am having technical difficulties (including registration)?

    Does your content have subtitles?
    We are doing our best to eventually add subtitles to all new videos. We will not have them at the start, but we will be adding more as the platform continues to grow.
