    The Recreation and Athletics department focuses on children's programming that nourishes a love for play and encourages staying active. Our programs are led by certified coaches and, with a focus on gross motor and program specific skills, we ensure that play and skill-building go hand-in-hand.     Parents and caregivers can have a direct hand in a preschooler’s development through our range of Multi-Sport programs. Sportball Junior and Parent & Tot and Multi-sport programs teach children important introductory physical skills and help them develop confidence in their abilities.

    This 45-minute program is a perfect introduction to Sportball. Children and parents participate in sports, creative games, songs, rhymes, stories, bubble time and much more. Although these programs focus more on exploration, children will be introduced to a different sport each week. Parents are encouraged to participate with their child and challenge them according to their skill level.

    Mega Hoops is an inclusive children's basketball program in collaboration with the Ontario Basketball Association. OBA-certified instructors will teach physical literacy, fundamental movement and basketball skills in a supportive environment, guided by Canadian Sport for Life principles. Kids will also try Wheelchair-basketball with the Wheelchair Sports Association.

    Instruction will focus on individual skills, team participation, and fundamentals of the game such as passing, shooting and stick handling. Always a balance between skill-building and fun.

    This Jr. Karate program is a perfect introduction to Karate that fosters a challenging and safe, non-violent environment while building the strength and confidence to avoid conflict.

    The Jr. NBA philosophy aims to develop a lifelong passion in children for the game of basketball, by teaching them the fundamentals of the sport while instilling core values like teamwork, respect and sportsmanship. Players receive a drawstring bag, reversible jersey and Spalding basketball with registration.

Using specialized equipment and positive reinforcement, Monkeynastix helps kids develop good habits in the areas of physical activity and healthy living. Children leave feeling happy, confident and energized!
