    Students will be introduced to classic Klezmer grooves, as well music from other folk traditions from around Europe. Playing these tunes, students will learn traditional ornamentation and accompaniment styles, as well as ways to break the mold and try new things. Klez-mish will focus on interpersonal musical skills such as arranging tunes from scratch, improvising melodies and harmonies, and creating music as a mixed ensemble. All instruments are welcome. Directed by Zoe Santo.

    Open to players in their teens and twenties with a minimum of 2-3 years of playing experience.

    A tribute concert featuring popular folk singing duo Sue & Dwight

    Singer-songwriters Joan Baez, Buffy St Marie and Joni Mitchell were three of the leading musician-activists of the 1960s. All showed remarkable range as vocalists and proved that music could have a powerful impact as an instrument of socio-political change. These remarkable female musicians created harmonious legacies of tolerance and peace. 

    Admission: $5/program

    Advance tickets are available for each program on our website or at our Information Desk. A limited number of tickets per program will be available for in-person sales the morning of each program, on a first-come, first-served basis.

    A Swing Era Concert & Dance in Celebration of Chanukah
    Featuring Alex Pangman and Her Alleycats

    Enjoy hot jazz vocals from the 1930s and dance the afternoon away at our concert held in celebration of Chanukah. Known as Canada's Sweetheart of Swing, Alex Pangman captivates with her vibrant vocals and infectious charm, and is joined by Glenn Anderson (drums), Chris Banks (bass), Peter Hill (piano), and John Macleod (cornet).
