3-Week Baby Massage

    This is an interactive 3-week massage program for parents and their babies, facilitated by a registered massage therapist with certification in infant/child massage therapy. Designed for newborns and pre-crawling babies (approx. before 8 months)

    Fee: $120
    3% CIF plus HST charges may apply

    Parents will learn the techniques and skills of baby massage; including the ideal timing, positioning, oil/lotion, environment and stroke techniques/pressure to use. Each week massage strokes for various areas of the body will be introduced and practiced.  Techniques will be demonstrated by the RMT on a doll and parents will practice on their baby or on a doll if the baby is not ready for the massage.  Special techniques such as a gas/colic routine, massage for older children and relaxation methods will be introduced during the program. There will be opportunities for parents to chat informally and share their relevant parenting experiences.

    Niki is a Registered Massage Therapist and graduate of the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy. While Niki is passionate about working with clients across the lifespan to realize their own treatment goals, she has additional training and experience providing pre and postnatal massage, labour support, breast massage, manual lymphatic drainage and teaching infant and child massage (to groups and individuals).
    Niki experienced firsthand the enormous benefits of receiving massage during her own pregnancies, labours and with her children and is passionate about sharing this with others as an RMT.
    Niki has a Master’s of Health Sciences degree in Public Health with a focus on maternal and child health promotion and peer support. Niki’s work experience in a variety of diverse community health settings has provided her with a holistic and non-judgemental approach towards clients.
