Shabbat Groove is a spacious, playful and meaningful hour where children ages 0-4 and their grownups can connect through songs, stories, movement and rest. Our community proudly includes all kinds of families: LGBTQ+, interfaith, Jewish, Jew-ish and those of other backgrounds who are curious about Shabbat and seeking community. We welcome participants of all abilities. Children bring the grownups who love them: their caregivers, parents, grandparents, and friends. Co-presented with PJ Library.

    For Grades 2-6

Our shinshinim and youth leaders facilitate playful, hands-on experiences of Israel and cultural Judaism in an informal setting. Over the year, kids learn about Judaism, build friendships, and give back to the community. We will also explore the community and simply have fun at bowling, laser tag, or other group activities. In partnership with Camp Gesher/ Habonim Dror and The Narayever Congregation.

Our Groove celebrations will educate and entertain the whole family with stories, songs, games, crafts and more, inspired by Jewish holidays, values and culture. We offer an open, welcoming community for anyone curious about Jewish life and proudly include interfaith and LGBTQ+ families, as well as people of all abilities.

Grooves are co-programmed by partners in the downtown Jewish Community: Paul Penna Downtown Jewish Day School, Downtown Jewish Community School, MNjcc Israeli Connection, PJ Library, Matanot Lev, Camp Shomria/HaShomer Hatzair, Camp Gesher/ Habonim Dror, Darchei Noam and Narayver.
