Booking the Theatre

AGT1 Booking TheTheatrethumbAl Green Theatre is a 285 seat (281 regular seats and 4 accessible seats) multi-use facility inside of the vibrant Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre. Located at the corner of Bloor Street and Spadina Avenue in Toronto, we are fully accessible by both subway lines, with ample public parking and a number of great shops and restaurants close by.

The AGT is available for rental year-round. Our friendly and professional staff is always ready to assist you with all your rental needs. Since the fall of 2003 we have hosted a wide array of events including theatre, dance, music, film, lectures, conferences, social events and film shoots. Al Green Theatre External Renters’ Booking Policy and Procedure

Purpose of Policy:

  • To ensure that Al Green Theatre calendars are up-to-date and accurate
  • To assist rental clients, programmers and partners in meeting deadlines and confirming events
  • To allow all clients (internal and external) an equal opportunity to book the Al Green Theatre

Policy:

  • All external renters can hold dates in the Al Green Theatre by completing a rental inquiry form supplied by the Al Green Theatre Bookings Coordinator. Dates will not be held without completion of this form.

Procedure:

  • External renter checks date availability with AGT Bookings Coordinator.
  • AGT Bookings Coordinator will send the rental inquiry form to external renter within one business day.
  • External renter completes the rental inquiry form in its entirety and returns it to the AGT Bookings Coordinator.
  • Date(s) requested on form is/are held in the Al Green Theatre booking system, EventPro
  • AGT Bookings Coordinator sends cost estimate to the external renter within five business days (more time will be required for special package pricing or partnership applications)
  • External renter has two weeks to request confirmation of held date(s). If the external renter is not ready to commit to confirming held date(s) within two weeks, the hold(s) will be removed.
  • AGT Bookings Coordinator will send a reminder regarding confirmation three to five business days prior to deadline.

To confirm date(s):

  • The AGT Bookings Coordinator will send the external renter a non-refundable deposit invoice for the amount of 50% of the total license fees
  • The AGT Bookings Coordinator will send the applicable contracts to the external renter
  • The external renter must pay the non-refundable deposit invoice in full two weeks after it has been sent
  • The external renter must return the Theatre Use and Schedule A contracts to AGT Bookings Coordinator two weeks after they have been received
  • The remaining license fees, plus all staffing costs, will be due two weeks prior to the first date of the booking along with a certificate of liability insurance

Unable to confirm date(s):

  • The hold on the date(s) originally requested will be removed by the AGT Bookings Coordinator
  • AGT Bookings Coordinator will send notification to the external renter that hold(s) have been removed and the cost estimate sent will be considered null and void.

Requesting date(s) for a second time:

  • It is implied that the external renter is willing to commit to confirming their booking therefore the two-week hold period does not apply
  • The AGT Bookings Coordinator will send the rental inquiry form back to the external renter for review.
  • The external renter must confirm that the information on the rental inquiry form is correct/make any necessary changes to the rental inquiry form and send the form back to the AGT Bookings Coordinator.

Cancellation Policy:

  • All license fee payments/deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable
  • External renters are locked into the terms of contract once signed (see Theatre Use contract for more details) – including being responsible for the full license fee payments
  • External renters will be responsible for the full estimate of staffing costs should they cancel with less than two (2) business days’ notice

Dance Studio External Renters’ Booking Policy and Procedure

Primary Function of the Dance Studio:

  • To serve as the green room for live performance in the Al Green Theatre.
  • Priority over use of this space must go to theatre renters

Secondary Function of the Dance Studio:

  • To serve as an affordable rehearsal space for the arts community for short-term/last minute bookings

Purpose of Policy:

  • To optimize use of the space for all users
  • To ensure that dance studio bookings are confirmed and paid in full in an efficient and timely manner

Policy:

  • All dance studio bookings must be paid for in full three to five business days before the first day of the booking
  • Dance Studio bookings are taken no earlier than four weeks prior to first date requested for booking and are subject to availability based on the theatre rental schedule

Procedure:

  • Dance studio renter checks date availability with AGT Bookings Coordinator
  • Date(s) requested is/are held in the Al Green Theatre booking system, EventPro
  • AGT Bookings Coordinator sends confirmation sheet/contract to the dance studio renter within two business days
  • AGT Bookings Coordinator sends invoice, worth 100% of the license fees to the dance studio renter within two business days

To confirm date(s):

  • The dance studio renter will provide payment in full to the AGT Bookings Coordinator within three business days of receiving the invoice
  • The dance studio renter will send a signed copy of the confirmation sheet/contract to the AGT Bookings Coordinator within three business days of receiving the confirmation sheet/contract

Unable to confirm date(s):

  • If payment is not made within three business days by the dance studio renter, the held date(s) originally requested will be removed by the AGT Bookings Coordinator
  • The AGT Bookings Coordinator will send notification to the dance studio renter that hold(s) have been removed and the confirmation sheet/contract sent will be considered null and void

Cancellation Policy:

  • All license fee payments/deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable
  • Dance studio renters are locked into the terms of contract once signed (see Confirmation Sheet/Contract Terms and Conditions for more details)

Rental Inquiries

All rental inquires must go through the Al Green Theatre Bookings Coordinator.
