An introductory course designed for men to learn the basics of yoga and gently open up the body to build flexibility and strength. Through slow and mindful guidance, participants will explore movement with gentle poses designed to open up typically tight areas of the shoulders, chest, hips and hamstrings.

This course is ideal for those who believe they are “too tight or inflexible” for yoga, for those who are constantly stressed at work and at home and for those who are too intimidated to attend regular drop-in classes. The smaller class size will allow for more individual, personalized attention and time to ask questions. This course provides a safe environment to learn the basics of yoga movement, breath and mindfulness practice and the opportunity to de-stress and unwind from the busyness of everyday life.
Your Program Facilitator – Jasmyn Hoa Tang
Jasmyn Hoa Tang is a CSEP Certified Personal Trainer and 200hr Registered Yoga Medicine Teacher. Jasmyn has been practicing yoga since 2005. She discovered yoga as a way to heal herself after a car accident. Yoga provided her with the ability to reconnect her breath to her mind and body, which was lost after the accident. However, she did not realize the impact of yoga in her life until she found herself turning to yoga in times of chaos and stress, in order to find balance, strength and clarity. Yoga was instrumental in guiding her to return to college to switch careers and become a fitness and health professional. While working as a personal trainer, Jasmyn found herself utilizing yoga as a tool to compliment her training with her clients.
As her personal yoga practice deepened, Jasmyn decided it was finally time to further educate herself and pursue a yoga teacher training certification that was in line with her personal philosophy and experience of using yoga to heal and strengthen both the mind and body. In February 2015, after an intense four-month training program, Jasmyn completed her certification with Yoga Medicine, under the guidance of Tiffany Cruikshank. Yoga Medicine is an anatomically based training system that is focused on fusing the best of anatomy & western medicine with the traditional practice of yoga. The primary focus of the training is to use yoga as a form of medicine to heal the mind, body and spirit.
Approaching class with a sense of playfulness and fun, Jasmyn encourages mindful movements, strength and balance in her classes. Her knowledge of anatomy and proper alignment guide her classes as she challenges students to define what is possible in both mind and body through thoughtful and playful, energizing sequences.
