This fun and engaging beginners’ class involves development of American Sign Language (ASL) skills, including vocabulary, finger spelling and the introduction of grammatical structures. Deaf Culture studies will be incorporated into the curriculum.

Mega Hoops is an inclusive children’s basketball program in collaboration with the Ontario Basketball Association. Coach Gaby will teach physical literacy, fundamental movement and basketball skills in a supportive environment, guided by Canadian Sport for Life principles.

Designed for young adults with developmental disabilities and ASD and open to all. Cook, meet new people and gain valuable customer service experience. Make and share dinner each night and prepare healthy snacks to sell in the Fitness Centre. Facilitated by Dream Weavers: An Occupational Therapy Collective.
(Youth 18-30) 2:00 - 4:30 pm
The Disability/Visibility project is an 8-week community arts project in partnership with Gallery44, culminating in a gallery show in July 2018. Youth 18-30 who identify with the experience of disability will work with Toronto photographer Steve Kean to explore the theme of Im|Balance, develop photography skills and learn about the technical elements of photography. Participants will explore disability, identity and community in various locations in the city. Participants will work in groups and individually alongside Steve. FREE

Designed by physiotherapists at Toronto Rehab, TIME is a safe, gentle, and fun exercise program for people experiencing balance and mobility challenges. TIME was developed for participants who have experienced stroke, brain injury, multiple sclerosis (MS) and other conditions including weakness after a hospital stay or an operation. Stay active and healthy!
(Previously known as Osteofit) Maintaining strong bones are an essential part of an active lifestyle. Studies have shown that the following elements of fitness will help improve the health of your bones and help prevent fall-related injuries. This program is designed to cater to older adults with osteopenia or osteoporosis. All of our instructors are older adult fitness specialists and some are BoneFit™ trained with Osteoporosis Canada.
Focus areas in this fitness program are: gaining muscular strength to improve balance and overall body composition, improving cardiovascular health and muscular endurance through low-impact aerobic exercises and increasing bone density through weight bearing exercises.
Semi and Group Private Lessons
In addition to one-on-one private lessons, we provide semi private and group private lessons. Semi private lessons have a 1:2 students to instructor ratio, and group private lessons have a 1:3 or 4 students to instructor ratio. The Aquatics department at Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre does not match up participants for semi and group private lessons.
Osteo-Circuit is an individualized, progressive and fun fitness program. It provides evidence-based assessments and supervised exercise for individuals with osteoporosis and/or other chronic conditions, and it is presented in four phases to help improve your bone health.
