Explore the rich culture and traditions of Judaism at an introductory level for anyone in the ASL/Deaf community interested in learning more about Jewish issues and culture.

* For those interested in working in Jewish settings, as well as anyone interested in exploring Jewish culture through an intersectional lens using ASL.
* Exposure to foundational Jewish terminology and ideas
* Workshop conducted in ASL

Intro to ASL I

This fun and engaging beginners’ class involves development of American Sign Language (ASL) skills, including vocabulary, finger spelling and the introduction of grammatical structures. Deaf Culture studies will be incorporated into the curriculum.

ASL II continues advancing the skills learned in ASL I, including vocabulary, finger spelling and the grammatical structures. Deaf Culture studies is incorporated into the curriculum. Intro to ASL I or experience with ASL recommended.
