Groove School of Dance!

A group of children dance on a stageGroove School of Dance offers exciting and unique dance programming. Groove's focus on self esteem and creativity, rather than competition, is what keeps the company growing. The atmosphere at Groove is family-friendly, whether it be the homemade costumes or the warm, loving teachers who make sure each child feels like the individuals they are. Groove is also one of the first dance studios that encourages children with special needs. Over the years children with autism, down syndrome, and visual and hearing impairment have danced here as well. Read more below to see the wide range of offerings for ages 3-12!

Personal health and fitness is something she is passionate about, and an experience she loves to share.

Donnie Geraghty

Donnie Geragnty GrooveDonnie Geraghty has been ‘popping’ and ‘breaking’ for over 15 years and has been a Head Teacher for breakdancing, popping, and hip-hop at the Groove School of Dance since 2008. Prior to Groove, Don’s eight years of teaching experience includes Foundations in London, Ontario – a break dance program through Western University and a recreation program at Greenwood Private School. Concurrent to being a teacher at Groove, Don also enjoys teaching ‘breaking’, ‘popping’ and hip-hop at the Street Dance Academy in Toronto. Donny’s numerous choreography and performance highlights include but are not exclusive to the Krump Free Zone Competition, “Red City” and the Battle of the Year competition in Toronto. In 2007, Don was recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records for 24 hours of “B boy Cyphering” at the Vaughan Mills Outlet Mall raising over $15,000 for cancer research. While Don has enjoyed entering competitions for the past ten years, either one-on-one or with his crew, Albino Zebrah and Conscious Souls, his true love is ‘cyphering’ where he has a chance “to be free and express his true style”.
